Piping Tree Creek ran from Pampatike House to the Pamunkey River

A canal was dug that channels Pampatike creek along the causeway of the Island Field to Pampatike creek. This was to reduce water going into the Piping Tree watershed because the canal must have been blowing out in the freshets
