15. Peter3 Goodwin (James2, Peter1, RobertA, HenryB, JohnC, WilliamD) was born 1662 in Back Creek, York Co, VA, and died Bef. 20 Mar 1731/32 in York Co, VA8,9. He married Rebecca Tiplady Bef. 1694 in York Co, VA10, daughter of John Tiplady and Ruth Beale. She was born 1680. A planter in York Co, later moving to Warranuncock Island, then New Kent Co., and later still to King & Queen County, finally settling in King William Co., VA (Beale Family Genealogy, p. 17) York Co, VA Deeds, Orders, Wills Book 17 pp 267 - 270
In the name of God Amen in the Year of our Lord 1631 (must be a misprint), I Peter Goodwin of York, Hampton Parish in the County of York in Virginia being sound and perfect mind and memory praised by God Revoking all former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made do make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in Manner. …I give and bequeath unto my son Peter Goodwin my land in King William County known by the name Warranuncock Island. I give to my son James Goodwin his lifetime in half the high ground of the same within the swamp that is from the mouse trap path of the coming out of the Swamp Streuss? across to the other Swamp to end of three hunds yards from the Spring up the Swamp with privilege in any of the swamp and low ground for the use of the plantation if himself will live upon it paying to his brother half in the quick receipts.
